The lefty bloggers are really, really upset that they're not getting their way. And they're angry that, as self-determined representatives of the Democratic Party's base, that the President and the Democratic leadership in the Congress have betrayed them, the base.

But the lefty blogger activists are not the base of the Democratic Party. Disproportionately higher income, college educated, male, and white, they are not the base demographically ... and they're clearly not speaking for 80% of Democrats who, in a January 2010 CBS poll, still solidly support President Obama.

So who, exactly, are the lefty blogger activists the base of? It's clear that their feelings of aggrieved frustration are not representative of the overwhelming majority of Democrats.
