The Private Health Insurance Must Go! Coalition supports the formation of a growing movement nationally for National Single-Payer Healthcare for Everyone, as currently outlined in Congressional Bill HR 676. To pass HR 676 requires political action, which also depends upon education, outreach, direct action (marching and taking it to the streets) and speaking out against media omissions and distortions on the healthcare issue in the U.S., and Single-Payer in particular.

Join our Coalition and participate in planning and implementation of coalition actions.

Hold house parties with friends to discuss the issue and to create hone and letter writing campaigns in support of HR 676. This could include holding a screening of Michael Moore's Sicko with friends; or joining one of the small public screenings you can learn about through the Coalition.

Write artcles/editorials sharing the facts about Single-Payer and dispelling myths and distortions. In particular, write and communicate with people, professions and communities that you know and where you are known (e.g., for newsletters in your union or place of business, as appropriate, as well as for newspapers, magazines and online blogs and websites).

Participate in Coalition street theater on the healthcare issue.

Birddog political candidates to hold their feet to the fire on the national healthcare crisis and the National Single-Payer solution.

Plan or participate in marches and direct action in support of national Single-Payer Healthcare for Everyone.
